Rene Hamlin. Appalachian Dr. Chair.
Thank you for nominating me for the BRECA steering committee. I have lived in our neighborhood since 2002. I believe that I hold the passion and expertise needed for this position. I hold a master in Non Profit Management and Leadership as well as a BA in Environmental Studies and Anthropology. I am committed to bringing my knowledge and experience to BRECA.
I have been working in the Sacramento nonprofit community since 1998. My past volunteer and professional experiences have focused on budget preparation, accounts payable/accounts receivable, contract/grant compliance, fundraising, volunteer management, and special event coordination. The organizations that I have worked for and volunteered with have all made positive changes in our community.
I am excited by the task at hand. I know just how our families and community have benefited from the work of BRECA. The leadership provided by the BRECA has positively shaped our neighborhood. I will bring the dynamic energy, expertise and best practices to the steering committee. This will further assist in achieving the mission of BRECA to be an effective voice in commenting on local issues and projects while bringing the community together in neighborhood events.
