A summary of Profit and Loss, Budget vs. Actual up to December 2014 was distributed.Jim Morgan stated that the recent BRECA Newsletter was over budget, due to increased printing costs and increased membership. - County: Zoning and Special Planning Area
Gay Jones stated that Chris Pahuli (spelling?) and Tim Kia (spelling?), with the County, are working on revising the Butterfield Special Planning Area document. Eventually there should be a meeting with BRECA to discuss the document. BRECA’s guidelines include blending and melding with the existing community and full parkland dedication on site. Gay also stated that this is connected with updating the County Zoning codes. This is an important issue at the Community Planning and Advisory Councils, with issues such as reducing the allowed setback of buildings from the street from 25 feet to 5 feet. Gay stated that there are workshops on the zoning update before the Board of Supervisors scheduled for February 11 at 2:45 pm and on March 10. - Levee Work
Jim Morgan stated that the construction work on the east end of the Mayhew-Gristmill levee appears to be completed. It is evident that the “plug” that was constructed partially blocks the path where water below the top of the levee could go around the end, but still leaves a gap. Jim has sent a series of questions to the Corps of Engineers regarding the specifications of the “plug” as constructed. There was discussion of whether BRECA wants to push for further work to connect the levee to high ground. It was agreed that further information is needed. - From the Floor
It was agreed that Rene Hamlin, Andrea White and Bonnie Domeny would be co-leads for the Easter Egg Hunt.
